Ömer Oralkan received the B.S. degree from Bilkent University, Turkey, in 1995, the M.S. degree from Clemson University, SC, USA, in 1997, and the Ph.D. degree from Stanford University, CA, USA, in 2004, all in electrical engineering. He is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at NC State University. He works on developing devices and systems for ultrasound imaging, therapy, and sensing. He serves on the TPC of the IEEE International Ultrasonics Symposium and was a Technical Program Co-Chair in 2020. He received the 2016 W.F. Lane Outstanding Teacher Award at NC State, the 2013 DARPA Young Faculty Award, and the 2002 IEEE UFFC-S Outstanding Paper Award . He is the Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Open Access Journal of UFFC.
