Giovanna Ferraioli, MD, FAIUM is a researcher at Medical School University of Pavia, Italy, and she is qualified as associate professor of infectious diseases and gastroenterology at ASN 2017.
Dr. Ferraioli is the co-director of the EFSUMB Ultrasound Learning Centre at Medical School University of Pavia, Italy, and the coordinator of the ultrasound school at the same Institution.
Her research interests include elastography in diffuse liver diseases, non-invasive quantification of liver steatosis, ultrasound contrast agents, and Doppler in portal hypertension.
Dr. Ferraioli has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles and several book chapters. She’s a world expert on liver shear wave elastography, lead author of WFUMB guidelines on liver elastography and has contributed to several liver elastography guidelines. She’s member of the AIUM-RSNA QIBA Pulse Echo Quantitative Ultrasound (PEQUS) Biomarker Committee and co-chair of the attenuation working group, member of RSNA-QIBA Ultrasound SWS Biomarker Committee, and secretary for the AIUM Elastography Community of Practice. She is subspecialty editor of the Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine, head of the Ultrasound section of the Scientific Editorial Board of European Radiology, and member of the Editorial Board of World Journal of Gastroenterology, Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology, Diagnostics, Journal of Ultrasound.
