Scott Smith

Scott Smith joined GE after earning degrees physics from the University of Rochester and the University of Pennsylvania. Initially he developed phased array probes for medical ultrasound. More recently, he led projects on novel probe materials, fabrication methods, and specialty applications including photoacoustics and guiding therapy. Dr. Smith has over 60 issued patents and over 40 refereed publications. He is a fellow of the American Physical Society and an IEEE Life Fellow. A long time member of the International Ultrasonics Symposium(IUS) Technical Program Committee and Associate Editor of T-UFFC, he was also General Co-Chair of IUS 2020.
